How many people fit on a motor coach?

Fifty-six in our configuration, each with a reclining seat and a luggage bay space. Coaches of this class are built for up to 60 seats, so confirm the exact count when your group is near the line.

How many hours can a charter bus driver drive in one day?

Ten hours of driving, after eight consecutive hours off duty, and no driving at all past fifteen hours on duty. Waiting time counts toward the fifteen, which is why long gaps in an itinerary need a second driver.

Does a motor coach have a bathroom?

Yes. An onboard restroom is standard on this class of coach, which is the practical reason groups choose it over a mini bus for anything longer than an hour.

The motor coach is the largest vehicle DallasVIP runs and the only one that solves a genuinely large problem: moving a convention, a wedding, or a corporate offsite in a single vehicle, over a long distance, without a single roadside stop.

The Rule That Actually Shapes Your Itinerary

Most charter plans fail on driver hours, not on seats. A passenger-carrying commercial driver is federally limited, and the limits are not negotiable. Build the day around this table and the day works.

A day trip to Austin and back fits comfortably. An itinerary that keeps a driver on duty from a 6am load-out to a midnight departure does not, and the fix is a second driver booked in advance rather than an argument in a parking lot. We plan for it when you book.

How to check any charter operator before you pay a deposit
  • Ask for the USDOT number, then run it through the federal SAFER Company Snapshot. It returns the safety rating, roadside out-of-service history, and crash record, free.
  • A vehicle built for more than 15 passengers including the driver requires Texas motor carrier registration, and carriers of 26 or more passengers must file $5,000,000 in liability coverage.
  • Operating inside Dallas also requires city operating authority and a city driver permit, which the airports check independently.
