Cowboys at Texans

The closest road trip on the schedule, and the only one a Dallas fan could reasonably drive to and back in a day. Houston is a few hours south, kickoff is at noon, and a decent share of NRG Stadium will be wearing the wrong colours, which is precisely what makes an in-state fixture worth the petrol. Texas football arguments are not conducted quietly, and they are not conducted briefly either. The Texans and the Cowboys do not meet often enough for anyone to grow bored of it, and that rarity lends an ordinary October Sunday rather more edge than the standings suggest it has earned. A noon start leaves the entire afternoon free afterwards, which is either a mercy or a problem depending entirely on the result. Bars across Dallas fill early for this one and do not empty in a hurry.
