Lumen Field has a well documented noise problem, in the sense that visiting offences have a well documented problem with the noise. Seattle in December on a Monday night is the longest journey on the schedule and comfortably the least welcoming room on it. That crowd has made a genuine sporting virtue out of sheer volume, and a west coast primetime kickoff lands late enough in Dallas that the following morning becomes a negotiation. December football carries weight of its own by this point: the standings have stopped being theoretical, and every result reads as a step toward January or a step away from it. Three time zones, a building designed to be difficult, and a night game. This is the one where being in the right room in Dallas, with the right people and a screen worth looking at, genuinely helps.
