Cowboys at Rams

SoFi Stadium is the newest and shiniest building in the league, an enormous piece of architecture in Inglewood that reads less like a stadium than a small city that happens to have a roof. The Rams host the Cowboys there on a Sunday afternoon five days before Christmas, which lends the whole thing a faintly unreal, holiday adjacent quality. Los Angeles crowds are famously relaxed, and a Cowboys visit tends to fill a healthy portion of that building with people who did not have to leave Texas to be there. Late December football carries stakes whether the participants care for them or not. A late afternoon Central kickoff puts it squarely in the window where nobody has anywhere else to be, which makes it the main event of the Sunday here rather than the background to it.
